AeroCopter Oü, in cooperation with the Agricultural and Food Board, will carry out oral vaccination flights for wild animals between 21/09.2026 and 30.09.2026. Vaccination will take place in northeastern and southeastern Estonia in the Russian border areas with the aim of preventing the spread of rabies among wild animals to Estonia and keeping Estonia rabies-free. The above flights will be flown with 2 helicopters.

As a reminder to the finder of a vaccine piece:

If a vaccine piece is found, it must be left untouched where it was found, because small predators will not touch the bait piece if it has a human scent, and the vaccination will fail. If there is a risk that children or domestic animals may find the vaccine piece, the vaccine piece must be moved to a more hidden place, using rubber gloves. If the vaccine contained in the bait has come into contact with the mucous membranes of the mouth, nose, or eyes, the area must be washed with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. If the vaccine solution gets on damaged skin or an open wound, the wound should be washed with plenty of water and soap for at least 15 minutes, then cleaned with a 70 percent alcohol solution. Be sure to contact your family doctor. During vaccination and for the next few days, dogs and cats in the vaccination area should be kept indoors. In addition to vaccinating wild animals, it is important that pets (dogs, cats and ferrets) are also regularly vaccinated against rabies. Pets should be vaccinated against rabies every two years and this is the responsibility of the pet owner.

AeroCopter Oü will continue its scheduled helicopter sawing flights for tree branches growing on power lines. If you see a helicopter nearby with a suspended platform performing the above-mentioned aerial work, please do not stay and film the flight out of curiosity, but leave the danger area immediately.
